Last and FINAL update ~ March 1, 2013

maintitles-welcome

Welcome to what was the main index of Eric Bailey's web site.

My new web site (still ericbailey.ca) focus's mainly on my watercolours ~ although there is other content available ~ including these pages from my original web site going back to 2007.

Although I have included these older web sites/pages they will not be updated.

In the future, if I choose to expand the content of my recipes for example it will be in a new format and/or web site. Or, in my Cook Book that I have started writing and testing.

thanks,

Eric Bailey

maintitles-whatsnew

July 20 2012,

You may have noticed that my pencil envy web site is under construction while I completely redo the site. And under construction for me means that pages will be in a draft version, links are broken etc.

thanks,

Eric Bailey

March. 3 2012,

With the registration of my new domain name and an "Under Construction" page uploaded ~ here is the link to my new website:

www.baileyhomeinspections.com

thanks,

Eric Bailey

January. 30 2012, After a number of false starts re. re-training etc., Monday Jan. 23, 2012 I started training in my new career in Home Inspection. Taken through Dalhousie it is mainly online-at home combined with field exercises etc.

MAY I NEVER WORK IN COMPUTER DRAFTING OR AN ENGINEERING OFFICE EVER, EVER, EVER, AGAIN ! !

In other news both web sites are undergoing a complete re-design and a third web site will be added when I start my Home Inspection business... so really - stay tuned....

April. 9 2011, I didn't get into the program I wanted and three years for the full program which would be the next step is too long to go back to school - so the Graphic Design program at NSCC is not going to happen either.

Stay tuned....

Sept. 28 2010, Wow! A year of constantly changing plans... the program I was to start Sept. 27, 2010 at Eastern College has been cancelled due to low enrollment.

I applied to a Graphic Design program at NSCC unfortutately with such short notice I did not get in and will have to re-apply next year... for the 2011 program.

June 11 2010, Please note that (as of June 4, 2010) a Canadian Trademark has been registered for pencil envyTM.

This will be followed with the application for an American Trademark in the future....

June 9, 2010, As it looks like I am going back to school in September (2010) - the Eric Bailey Store Front is on hold until further notice...

thanks,

Eric

May 29, 2010, We rented "Avatar" the other day - pretty good - with the exception of the usual hollywood gutless type decisions regarding how far to go with a realistic alien world etc. In particular how bad the script - the writing - was.

All that money, all of the work they did and yet the script did not live up to it's potential. So I would like to introduce a new word:

Overobviousdum:
[ overobviousdum.jpg - 3292 Bytes ]

The act or process of writing, drawing, or creating anything that is so stupid, so obvious that it is an insult to anyone with a brain in their head to view it.

Epitimized by the name of the ore the humans were mining on Pandora, "Unobtanium" !

Also to be found in ALL so called reality shows, most movies Steven Spielberg has anything to do with and of course pretty much all of Stephen King's writing...

Not to sound like one of Chuck Lorre's vanity cards but - use this new word and spread it around the world in the interest of better books, movies and TV shows for all. And. of course I expect a royalty each time it's used...

May 20, 2010, While I am looking for appropriate work as a Computer Draftsman ~ which would include more Graphics/Web and/or IT support as well as basic CAD work...

...I am mainly looking for an entry level Graphics/Web related job, having enrolled in:

Eastern College in the Multimedia: Graphic Design and Development program starting September 27, 2010 and ending January 27, 2012.

April 30, 2010, I was laid off from my so called "permanent" job today...

May 29, 2009, Check out my photo album of our Christmas 2007 Cruise !

November 16, 2008, My "Main Index" page has been updated to match the style of the rest of my web site(s).

Further updates coming soon! NOTE: That although the WaterColour site is live, purchases and my accepting commissions for paintings will not be available until EARLY IN 2009. Just in time to miss Christmas! fall 2009.

thanks,

Eric

maintitles-FAQ

Your web site/web page is too large/too small and has odd looking colours?

My web site(s) were tested at resolutions, colour depths and monitor sizes/types above and below the ideal I used which was - 1280x960, 19", 32 bit colour depth, CRT monitor. However, while anything different from those specifications will result in a different than intended experience - it should still be completely usable.

Please contact me with any specific problems that I may have overlooked.

Why are your web site(s)/web page(s) rated?

I think all web pages should have appropriate ratings so who can access what on the Internet can be controlled when that is appropriate.

For example, my WaterColour site will have nudes. Done tastefully and artistically I would hope. But nudes. Some people do not like this type of art, so they can choose to ignore that part of my web site.

Also, while my WebComic pencil envy is about a mild mannered Computer Draftsman - it is also going to be the most cynical, raunchiest, insulting, funniest comic strip of any kind. So my WebComic is rated to cover everything I think I will ever put into it. Below is the rating information you may get from the ICRA:

  • No nudity
  • Passionate kissing
  • Obscured or implied sexual acts
  • Explicit sexual language
  • Erotica
  • Injury to human beings
  • Injury to fantasy characters (including animation)
  • Blood and dismemberment, human beings
  • Blood and dismemberment, fantasy characters (including animation)
  • Torture or killing of human beings
  • Torture or killing of fantasy characters (including animation)
  • Abusive or vulgar terms
  • Profanity or swearing
  • Mild expletives
  • Depiction of tobacco use
  • Depiction of alcohol use
  • Depiction of the use of weapons
  • Gambling
  • Content that sets a bad example for young children: that teaches or encourages children to perform harmful acts or imitate dangerous behavior
  • Content that creates feelings of fear, intimidation, horror, or psychological terror
  • Incitement or depiction of discrimination or harm against any individual or group based on gender, sexual orientation, ethnic, religious or national identity
  • No user-generated content
  • This material appears in an artistic context

You get this rating information ONLY If you click the ICRA button on the web page that contains the actual strip.

All other pencil envy related web pages are rated as suitable for everyone.

The link for pencil envy in the menu at the left (above) links to the general information or pencil envy "Home Page".

Note that other pages may be rated differently for Adult and/or mature content.

The rating of my web pages is a courtesy. Unfortunately it does not work 100% of the time. I have rated my websites in the hope that as time goes by all browsers will support this method of rating web pages. Internet Explorer and NETSCAPE are at the moment (2007) - the worst offenders as far as working inconsistently or not working at all in the case of NETSCAPE.

I also use DIGIMARC® to digitally mark my larger images - the rated Adult~18+ content images will be noted as such in the digital mark.
