BAILEYBAILEY - In loving memory of our mother who we lost to cancer on February 7, 2004. Jean Bailey personified love, family and friendship. Over the last few weeks of her life, Mom and I had the opportunity to talk about many things and one thing she said will stay with me always. She told me that she was most proud of two things in her life; her marriage and her children. Her and Dad were married for forty seven years and together for a total of fifty years. Through good times and bad times, ups and downs, they stayed the best of friends and deeply in love. She was also proud of her three children, recognizing our individuality and loving us all unconditionally. She told me that she was so pleased that each of us had been lucky in love and had found the right partner to spend our lives with. I told her luck was a small part of it but a lot of it was the example set by her and Dad, we knew what they had and each of us would settle for nothing less. Several years ago when Steven and Christine became a couple, Mom's love reached out to a shy little girl and that shy little girl became her much beloved granddaughter, Jaclyn. Mom was also proud to be a Kelly from Windsor Street and we grew up listening to stories from her childhood and surrounded by the Kelly clan. Grandma, Granddad, nine brothers and sisters, a family that grew to include 19 nieces and nephews. She loved all of them as they loved her. Mom was a people person, she could talk to anyone, she could go into a store and start talking with the cashier like they had been friends forever. Mom, however, was blessed with several special true friends; Carol, Shirley, Wanda and Barb, your friendship meant the world to Mom. For all of us, Mom touched our lives and made it better. As hard as her loss is to bear, that gives each of us something to be thankful for; we knew and were loved by Jean Bailey. Weren't we lucky! Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Eric, Maria, Dawn and Mark. |
